Intended Parent Requirements in Hawaii

For the safety, health, and well-being of everyone involved, intended parents must meet a few basic requirements to move forward in Hatch’s surrogacy program. We follow ethical, responsible screening practices so you can feel confident you’re building your family on a secure, supportive foundation.

Maximum Age of 55: For ethical reasons, and consistent with the requirements at most U.S. clinics, we have an Intended Parent maximum age of 55 years, or if pursuing surrogacy as a couple and one partner is over 60, then the other partner must be under 50.

Two PGT-A Tested Embryos: Intended parents must have two genetically tested embryos to be matched with a surrogate. (We can accept those with one or no embryos, but parents must be willing to create additional embryos while on the match list.)

Medical Need: Individuals or couples who are biologically unable to carry a pregnancy meet the necessary medical criteria.

Open, Respectful Communication: Intended parents should be willing to maintain positive, respectful contact with their surrogate.

English Language Proficiency: Necessary to ensure clear and reliable communication throughout the journey.

Background Check: Required to promote safety and transparency for all parties.

Psychological Preparedness Evaluation: Confirms emotional and mental readiness for the surrogacy process and parenthood.
